Robert Babish's Bio

Vice President

Robert “Coach” Babish is the ultimate team leader, drawing on a lifetime of experience in educational administration and coaching to build winning programs.

As Executive Director of the Pennsylvania Cyber Charter School, Babish guided the online school’s educational team during five years of explosive growth (2003-2008). Student enrollment ballooned from 2,000 to 7,500 and employee numbers jumped from 100 to 500. Among the adjustments he oversaw was the creation of an Academy system within the school to ensure continuity of quality educational services and overcome the challenges of rapid growth.

Team building comes naturally to “Coach” Babish after a long career of achievement as a player and coach in scholastic and collegiate programs. After lettering in four sports at South Fayette (Pa.) High School, Babish was a starter on Waynesburg College’s NAIA national championship football team in 1966. Named head football coach at tiny Quigley Catholic High School at the tender age of 24, he made the Spartans THE force in Class A football in western Pennsylvania during his seven-year tenure leading them to consecutive WPIAL titles in 1978 and 1979. Accolades included being named Pennsylvania Class A Football Coach of the Year in 1978.

He laid the foundations for successful football programs at East Liverpool, Ohio, and his alma mater, South Fayette, retiring from high school athletics with a 116-74-6 record after 23 years. He ended his coaching career as an assistant to Joe Walton at Robert Morris University, helping the Colonials win back-to-back national football championships in 2000 and 2001.

Babish holds a degree in economics from Waynesburg College, his teaching certification from Geneva College, a master’s in education from Slippery Rock University, and his principal’s certification from the University of Pittsburgh.

As a Vice President of the Avanti Management Group LLC, Babish manages special projects and is a consultant to the administrative team at PA Cyber.
